Subject Guides

There are some new technologies out there that might help with your research and note taking.  They are new, which is to say, they can be buggy or limited, but in combination, they can be very helpful.  Experiment with them, but don't necessarily depend on them. 

• WordTalk 
  Free text-to-speech plugin for Microsoft Word.  This programme will allow you to choose to have your text or assignment read to you right off the screen.
• Evernote   
  Enables you to capture screens, photos, etc. and save them to a little library. Works well with iPhones and Android.
• Zotero    
  This will organise your citations and spit them out in APA. You will still need to check the final result to make sure that it matches the way WITT uses APA.
  

How we can help you:

When you first come to the library, please bring your student ID card, we can register you on the library system and check your contact details.  Your tutor will book your class group in so we can show you how to make the most of the Library Learning Centre.

Use the Library website to access the Library catalogue (opac), find resources and more for your study. Please use the tabs above or the links to the left. If you need help, please don't hesitate to contact us.

The Library staff are here to help you.  We have qualified staff that can assist you to:

• Use the Library databases to conduct advanced searches
• Quickly and effectively find peer reviewed, quality research
• Have tips and tricks to using the world wide web
• Know what resources to use when
• Use the library effectively
• Effectively evaluate your resources

All you need to do is ask us to show you how.  You can book in for help anytime by filling in the booking sheet by the Issue Desk.

Monday – Thursday 8am – 6pm

Friday 8am – 4pm

Saturday 9.30am – 12.30pm 

Term break:

Monday – Friday 8am -4pm

Closed Saturdays and public holidays
