The Turn the Page Collection links people who have mild to moderate mental health issues to a set of self-help books recommended by GPs, psychologists and counsellors. GPs and other health professionals ‘prescribe’ books to their patients, which can then be borrowed from the WITT Library.
The Turn the page scheme was initiated by Midlands Health in conjunction with Puke Ariki Library and is now available at all Public Libraries in the Taranaki area as well as at the WITT Library.
Books cover a variety of topics including anxiety, stress, depression, eating disorders and parenting issues. WITT Library has also included books on mindfulness, coping with anger, suicide and sleep to our lists.
The books have been marked with the Turn the Page logo on their spine. This makes them easy to locate on the shelves. Clicking on the titles in this guide will link you through to the book record in the Library catalogue.
A printable version of the booklist containing all the titles is available on the left of this page.
